At The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), students are regularly invited to share their views on important themes that shape their education and future careers. In December 2024, the THUAS student panel was asked about their experiences with AI and digitalisation — a topic that is rapidly becoming part of everyday life in classrooms, workplaces, and beyond.
The survey gives insight into how students are using AI tools, what challenges they face, and how they see opportunities for digital innovation. It’s part of a wider conversation at THUAS about responsible and practical ways to integrate AI into education, research, and professional practice.
You can read more about the panel results on the THUAS site, and for those who read Dutch, the full report is also available there. It’s a great way to see how students themselves are shaping the discussion on AI in higher education.

Below is one screenshot from the report, with an English translation/summary. I used ChatGPT 5.0 to help with this.

The chart shows results from a survey of 286 students at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
- 71% of students (22% “very important” + 48% “important”) consider AI important for their studies and field of expertise.
- 22% see it as neither important nor unimportant.
- A small minority finds it unimportant (3% “unimportant” and 2% “very unimportant”).
- 2% answered “don’t know / no opinion.”
In short: a strong majority of THUAS students recognise the relevance of AI for their education and professional future.
