From November 2022 until February 2023, I had the fantastic experience of being a freelance lecturer at Hotelschool The Hague.
This highly specialised university offers both Bachelors and Masters education with a focus on hospitality.
They were in need of a lecturer/coach for students for the module “Aligning Business & Information” 1-2 days a week. I’d taught Ebusiness at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the past, which had a lot of closely related elements.
So I got myself an updated copy of the textbook and was provided with the rest of the materials and some training – and met my class!

I worked alongside another lecturer who had many years of experience with this module, Navneet Rathee. It was a pleasure to work with someone with so much passion for and knowledge of the subject.
It was good to have the chance to sit in on his classes and lectures before I delivered my own, and to have him as a mentor and go-to if I had any questions.
He also helped me sort out all the practicalities such as a staff pass.

As you can imagine, when training to work in hotels and hospitality, the lunches there were fabulous! Cooked and served by the students under guidance of experienced staff:

It was wonderful to meet so many of the other staff during lunchtime. What a strong pool of talent they share.
I also very much liked the focus on the SDG’s in both the location and the education:
