I recently had the the pleasure of delivering two workshops at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, as part of a Google Digital Marketing programme:
Day 1 of 2: 27 September 2017: Digital Customer Journey, SEO
Day 2 of 2: 11 October 2017: SEA, Google Analytics
This programme is part of the Grow with Google initiative, supporting students and business owners to increase their digital skills. Also called the “Digital Garage” there is an extensive free online training programme available: https://learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalgarage.
The offline training is managed by digital training agency, How and Knower in partnership with Google. You can read more here (in Dutch): https://howknower.nl/digitale-werkplaats
Combining online and offline training this way is a blended learning approach, which is an area I now specialise in after writing my Masters thesis on the topic. Anyone can follow the online training at any time, however by also providing these “offline” training sessions, Google offer students the ability to also interact with the trainer and other students and ask questions, further enhancing their learning. Each workshop runs for around 4 hours, with around 100-200 students in attendance.
There are around 15 trainers working through How & Knower on this project over the last 2 years, and so far I am the first and only native English speaker, so deliver the English language version. I really enjoy teaching these skills to students and the feedback has been positive.
