A big thanks to all the participants in last week’s Zestee Concepts Marketing Social Media beginners and intermediate classes at North Lakes Library. Such a variety of great businesses and organisations who were all keen to learn more about how to use social media to connect with clients and the community.
Here is a little about them and their organisations so you can check out their pages – and especially for the new pages I’m sure they would appreciate you “liking” them to help them reach the “magic 25” to be able to get a unique facebook url.
Bruce from Makeup Master has some fantastic products – just check out the gorgeous photos on his facebook page. He also offers Makeup classes in Brisbane.
Lindsay is setting up an inspirational blog to share excerpts from an upcoming book. I am looking forward to sharing the link when she’s ready!
Corrina and Murray from High Impact Teamwear created a brand new Facebook page for their business to promote their great range of corporatewear, teamwear and promotional products. They were also interested in learning more about Facebook as they have a teenage son who has started using it. This has become a common question from parents with teenagers on Facebook and I’m looking at putting together a specific class to talk about this. Murray also will shortly be doing some fundraising for cancer and plans on using a page to promote awareness of this.
Michelle O. was exploring the possibilities of using social media in the medical sphere, which she isn’t sure it’s perfectly suited to at this stage, but did set up a page for the Moreton Bay General Practice Network. She also saw the potential of running an existing page for a friend who owns a local business to be able to better control customer flow and information and is looking into becoming a potential administrator for this page.
Michelle M. from Albany Creek Leisure Centre already has a great page set up so for her it was learning more about building “likers”, as was the case with Mair from Pathways Leisure Centre.
Miranda is a local journalist who writes for the Pine Rivers Press and has done a great job of creating and managing this page recently. She also wanting to build followers, as well as directing them back to the main Quest news site. She is also about to source potential news stories via Facebook.
Dave and Julia from Gambling Help Moreton Bay Region have recognised the potential of using social media to build awareness for community organisations, and they have created an event within Facebook using the “app” to promote this via their page. They have a Let’s Talk about Gambling Public Forum coming up later this month.
Another thank you to the North Lakes Library for providing such as great venue.
