For more than 10 years now, I’ve been an enthusiastic LinkedIn user, and now teacher/trainer.
During that whole time, I’ve only ever used the free version. I’ve taken a look at the Premium option a few times in the past, but didn’t find the features very interesting. Trying again to see if anything has changed.
This article on LinkedIn gives a comparison between free and premium:

I didn’t realise that it’s now split into premium Career and Business.
So to review these premium features briefly again from my own perspective:
I don’t particularly want to see who’s viewed my profile, it seems kind of strange to me.
Messaging people outside of my network is not particularly useful in my situation, and even if you do message them, there is no strong likelihood that this would mean they’d message me back. In fact every InMail I have received in over a decade of using LinkedIn feels like spam to me, even if they paid for it.
The regular search features are sufficient, and I don’t really want an AI profile writing assistant.
So after comparing what’s on offer and the quite high price, I’ve decided that paying for LinkedIn premium is not worth it. LinkedInBasic is sufficient for my needs.
Have you paid for Premium? Do you find it worthwhile?
