On Monday 17 October 2022 I attended the “Delft Kracht van Verbindt” (power of connection/networking) event. This is a business networking event, and I had several interesting conversations. I try hard in Dutch but thankfully most people also speak English.
They highlighted a number of interesting local initiatives. As the chairperson of Delft MaMa, I hope to get this on a future agenda. I find it difficult as an international in the Netherlands to know how to access these kind of initiatives and events, but will keep trying!

One thing that looks promising is the “Cooperation Initiative” to support children, which is run by Rabobank, which Delft MaMa also uses. I find it difficult to understand that a not for profit organisation is charged business banking fees, but it seems this way for all banks here in NL.
The speaker was Sander Schimmelpenninck, who has written a book an “five proposals for a more fair NL” but I have to admit I couldn’t really follow this in Dutch.

So meanwhile, I’ll keep trying to learn and it is good to attend these kind of events to see what is happening in the business world in Delft.
