On Friday 25th August 2023, I had a lovely evening celebrating summer with Female Ventures & Friends in Delft.
All the colours!
The name badges were given a coloured sticker to indicate the following:
- Blue: International Organisation/Government (I work for THUAS)
- Yellow: Entrepreneur (my business Zestee)
- Red: Other (I’m open to more work and studying through LSJ at the moment)
- Green: Start up/scale up (Zestee could possibly qualify here, took it anyway as I like all the colours and like to push boundaries!)
Networking
Was really nice to not just meet a few new people but have the time to catch up with some friends I haven’t seen for some time. Was happy to see some men attending – I personally tend to not attend many “women only” events as I prefer the inclusivity and balance of both genders. I do understand that sometimes it’s good to be “female focussed” for various reasons and was great to have some “girl chat!”.
Nice to see a group from Delft MaMa – I recently stepped down as chairperson but still involved behind the scenes. So happy to see how busy Robyn and team have been with upcoming activities for parents in Delft.
I also made a new non-human friend! Max and I clicked immediately, his owner was taking him for a walk past the event and stayed to listen in for a while. Animals are awesome :). We should have more at networking events.
AI keynote
A nice last-minute surprise was to hear from my friend, Fiona Passantino, that she would be speaking at the event about AI. She said this was her first outdoor keynote! She did a great job at informing but also entertaining us with lots of figures and facts about the AI revolution surrounding us all.
