International Fireworks Festival Scheveningen 2017 announces participating countries 38th edition (11 – 12 August)

The International Fireworks Festival Scheveningen has announced the eight countries that will compete this year for the title of ‘Most Spectacular Fireworks 2017’ which will take place during the weekends of 11/12 and 17/18 August.
The participating countries are the Netherlands, Poland, China, France, Japan, Belgium, Portugal and Spain. The first show starts at around 21:45 and the second around 22:30 and will be displayed from the sea right in front of the boulevard.
Spain, last year’s winner, will conclude the Firework Festival with a spectacular show during the final evening on Saturday 19 August. The winner of the Fireworks Festival is automatically given the opportunity to defend the title in the edition of 2018.
The International Fireworks Festival Scheveningen is Netherlands biggest annual International Fireworks Festival and attracts a record number of visitors each year to Scheveningen beach. This year will be the 38th edition. All four days consist of two shows each night. There will also be exciting side events as music entertainment, and different activities for all ages to enjoy.
Blijdorp Festival 2017 – culture, music & happiness (12 August)
The Blijdorp Festival is all about art, culture, music & happiness and takes place next to the Rotterdam Zoo. The festival transforms the Roel Langerakpark into a land of discovery, with stages set amongst the park’s forests and alongside its lake.

Though music is the main event, the festival is a broader cultural experience, with visual arts and food stalls strewn throughout its site located next to the Rotterdam zoo.
Amsterdam Grachtenfestival (Canal Festival) 2017 (11-20 August)

From the 11 – 20 August, one of the cultural highlights of the Amsterdam summer, the annual Grachtenfestival (Canal Festival) will take place on and around Amsterdam’s canals. The historic canal belt of Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2010, hosts the ten-day festival of classical music at numerous beautiful locations.
The beautiful canals in the centre of Amsterdam form the perfect backdrop for classical music. The Canal Festival’s concerts are performed on stages by or even on the water, as the musicians stand on pontons and the audience listens from the canal side or from their own boats.
Expats come to ADO and enjoy the fun this season (11 August)
This coming Friday night, ADO Den Haag start their Eredivisie campaign with a home game in the Cars Jeans Stadium against FC Utrecht. Tickets for this game are already selling very well, many areas already sold out. To get more information on tickets for this game, click HERE.
