Mozart’s opera ‘Don Giovanni’   (Saturday 8th April)

The Nederlandse Reisopera will perform Mozart’s famous comic opera ‘Don Giovanni’ at the Zuiderstrandtheater on this coming Saturday.

Together with ‘Così fan tutte’ and ‘Le nozze di Figaro’, this opera belongs to the big 3 Italian operas with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte.

Don Giovanni, a young, arrogant, and sexually promiscuous nobleman, abuses and outrages everyone else in the cast until he encounters something he cannot kill, beat up, dodge, or outwit. The opera makes for exciting musical theatre with a great deal of suspense and humour and, according to some music critics, it is the most beautiful opera ever written.
