Cadance Festival (27 January – 12 February)

Premiere festival: up-and-coming top talents and Dutch leading choreographers. ‘The Art of Seeing’ is this year’s theme, with CaDance spotlighting the role of the audience and the experience of art. This theme is given further shape in a rich fringe program featuring the encounter between artists and the audience.


2017 International Film Festival Rotterdam (25 January – 5 February)

IFFR is one of the largest audience and industry-driven film festivals in the world. During twelve festival days, hundreds of filmmakers and other artists present their work to a large audience (2016: 305.000 admissions) and 2.538 film professionals. The festival’s Official Selection includes some 252 feature films and 225 short films out of 50 countries. It aims to organise and stimulate film-related activities in Rotterdam.


Women Economic Forum (27-28 January)

Inspiring women leaders and achievers from all walks of life will be part of the Women Economic Forum – European Union, WEF-EU 2017, from 27th-28th Jan 2017 in The Hague with the theme “EU: Reinventing Itself – Women Empowerment & Inclusion.”


WINWIDE Music AllTonesTables (27 January)

Where words fail, music speaks…In times where daily order are disturbed by contemporary turmoil; Where fastness and globalisation creates a restless environment; The need of silence and listening will increase…Listen, sing, tell and connect!


Burns’ Night Ceilidh Dance (27 January)

The St Andrew’s Society is kicking off the new year with their eagerly awaited Scottish Burns’ Night dance! The evening will feature a Scottish meal in remembrance of the famous poet Rabbie Burns (author of Auld Lang Syne) complete with traditional Macsween’s haggis (dispatched wi’ a swirlin’ sword), bashit ‘neeps and champit tatties. No dancing experience is necessary. There will be a Scottish dance teacher at hand who will walk and talk you through each dance…and plenty of fun to be had!

An elegant evening out with a gala dress code, music that gets you on the dance floor, once-in-a-lifetime shows, special guests and an evening full of surprises. NR Communicatie are proud to present an ALL-IN event that includes dinner and a welcome drink.


Royal Conservatorium The Hague Open Day (28 January)

Do you have a special talent for music or dance and are you curious how to develop your skills even more? Talk to our teachers and current students. Follow classes and visit presentations. Or test your skills with the wildcards! Not looking for a professional career in music or dance? But still curious as to who we are and what we do? Take a sneak peek behind the scenes and enjoy various concerts and dance performances!

Shakatak (28 January)

British jazz-funk group Shakatak was formed in 1980. Success was almost instantaneous, with their first single, Easier Said than Done, staying in the UK Singles Chart for seventeen weeks.


Border Kitchen: Yaa Gyasi (28 January)

Yaa Gyasi is coming to BorderKitchen! On January 28th Gyasi, the American literary promise of the moment, will honour us with a visit to talk about her debut novel Homegoing.


Dr Martin Luther King Tribute & Dinner (29 January)

Join us for a simple dinner, the kind Dr. King would have enjoyed. Listen to people who were there, the singing and the music and wisdom of the young. Guest speaker to be announced. Sponsored by OAR – Overseas Americans.
