Winternachten Festival (19-22 January 2017)

Winternachten Festival brings together writers, journalist, thinkers, poets and audiences in Theater aan het Spui and Filmhuis Den Haag. The 22nd edition of the most beautiful literary event of The Netherlands carries the motto ‘Is This the Real Life?’ centering on what exists but remains hidden, and talking about the fake - what isn’t there but is shown to us.
The Hague International Network: Donald Trump Inauguration & New Year Reception (20 January)

20 January is the inauguration of Donald Trump as the next President of the United States of America. The Hague International Network organizes an event in cooperation with the World Trade Center The Hague. You can watch the inauguration live on a big led screen and we have several distinguished speakers in our panel to give comments. Among them is Mr Han ten Broeke (Dutch MP for VVD), Nikola Dimitrov (The Hague Institute for Global Justice), Chris van Voorden (InnovationQuarter), Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy (MEP for D66)
After the inauguration we have the New Year Reception. First half hour the drinks are on the house (offered by Mondano). After 6 drinks are at your own expense, but the snacks are on the house.
National Tulip Day Amsterdam (21 January)

National Tulip Day (Dutch: Nationale Tulpendag) is an annual event in January that preludes the tulip season in the Netherlands. The event has been held on the Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam since 2012. During this day a special garden of 200,000 tulips covers the square. In the morning people can view the tulips from a gangway, and in the afternoon people can pick tulips for free. The tulips are from North Holland.
