Last Thursday, a 59 year old man from The Hague was arrested outside the Tweede Kamer parliament building. He is being held and next week a decision is being made whether he will remain in prison, released or perhaps requires psychological treatment reports Den Haag FM.
Towards the end of the afternoon on Thursday, the Binnenhof and Plein was closed to the public after a man shouted to military police stationed outside the Tweede Kamer that he had explosives in his bag, and threw this towards the building.
The military police fired a warning shot and then overpowered and arrested the man. Later it was determined by explosive experts that there were no explosives in the bag.
