The Van Hoytemastraat in Benoordenhout is the cleanest shopping area in The Hague region.
The Van Hoytemastraat came in 10th place in the Netherlands in this year’s election organised by Stichting Nederland Schoon. The Vlierboomstraat (27) and the Fahrenheitstraat (29) also appeared on the list.
This summer researchers visited 559 shopping areas in the Netherlands and interviewed shoppers. Observation teams also examined how clean the areas were.
According to Nederland Schoon, a welcoming and safe environment ensures that people spend more time shopping and thus spend more money.
The Van Hoytemastraat shopping area was chosen as the cleanest shopping area in the Netherlands in 2013.
