Game, Anime and DnD fans, this one is for you. Matthew Mercer, Critical Role Co-founder, Chief Creative Officer, Game Master and Cast Member, is coming to Heroes Dutch Comic Con

Heroes Dutch Comic Con is gearing up for a brand new edition of the largest pop culture event in the Netherlands. Fans of comics, movies and television series, games and cosplay can look forward to an amazing weekend at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24. With an eye on the upcoming edition, the organization now shares the first details regarding its guests and the program. American voice actor Matthew Mercer (Critical Role, Overwatch) is the first special guest to be announced!

Matthew Mercer is one of today’s most popular voice actors. Mercer can be heard in a variety of projects, from the most popular anime to iconic game franchises. Whereas gamers will most likely recognize him as the voice behind Cassidy in Overwatch or Victor Valentine in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, anime fans know him  best as Jotaro Kujo in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure or Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan. The actor was named ‘voice actor of the year’ in 2017.

Additionally, as co-founder and game master, Mercer is part of one of today’s leading web series, Critical Role. The show focuses on fantasy roleplaying with friends. Led by Mercer, the group takes their viewers on a fantasy journey through the fictional world of Exandria. The show’s success led to multiple comic books, live performances and podcasts. Critical Role has 2.28m subscribers on YouTube and 1.4m on Twitch.

Matthew Mercer is set to appear during both days of Heroes Dutch Comic Con. Fans can take pictures with the actor, have their merchandise signed or ask questions during the Q&As on the main stage.

What else is in store for Heroes Dutch Comic Con?

Besides the arrival of Matthew Mercer, other well-known actors and comic book artists will be announced leading up to the event. But there is much more planned for the fair! The event, which covers seven halls at the Jaarbeurs, exudes pop culture. Each hall has its own theme and activities. Visitors can game to their heart’s content in the Gaming Hall, feast their eyes on the coolest cosplays in the Cosplay Village, shop unique merchandise in the Dealer Hall and participate in all sorts of fun workshops and activities in the Activities and Experience Hall. The ‘Into The Galaxy’ Area, which covers everything of the Star Wars Universe, is also set to return.

Fans who want to be assured of a ticket can purchase an Early Bird ticket from the organization’s webshop starting at noon, where they can obtain a day or weekend ticket at a reduced rate. There is a limited amount of tickets available. Once they’re gone, they will not be restocked.
