On 18 September, SEA LIFE Scheveningen is once again committed to a cleaner underwater world by making the beach litter-free during Beach Cleanup Day.
A clean beach means less litter ending up in the sea, which helps keep the ocean cleaner. The action is organised annually and attracts many volunteers who collect litter along coastlines.
From New Zealand to California, Bangkok to Brighton, Sea Life Trust organises this event to join together over this one 24 hour period and turn attention to this global crisis.
In 2023, 1,643 people from around the world helped to collect almost 3,000kg of litter.
Wednesday afternoon between 13:00 and 14:00, employees of SEA LIFE Scheveningen also put their efforts into this. They call on everyone to help, because the more volunteers take part, the cleaner the beach and boulevard of Scheveningen will be.
SEA LIFE will provide all the necessary materials, such as a jut bag and litter grab. These can be collected from the ticket office.
Upon return of a full bag, a 50% discount on an admission ticket to SEA LIFE when visiting the same day will be given as a thank you.
